I can't believe how long ago I first discovered this song. I think I was around 16, and I'm 21 now. I don't self harm, but I have a history of severe depression and anxiety. I really didn't think I was going to make it this far, and I still struggle every day. I'm just hoping someday I'll be okay.

Every year on my birthday, I come back to this song at listen to it. Today is my birthday so here I am. I used to listen to this song when i was very young and was struggling so, so much. This song describes my life as I never had anyone to help me. I hoped that when i turned 16, things would get better. Or, more realistically, i wouldn't live to 16. Today I turn 19. Never thought id make it past 16 but here I am. Life is still very hard for me and im still depressed etc. But I dont know. Every year when i listen to this song again. I am reminded of everything i went through, but also how I am still here. I wonder if ill be here to listen to this song next year. But being able to listen to it right now. It gives me a little bit of hope that i can make it til my next birthday.

I was already depressed but every day has been the exact same since my parents told me the dog that was with me my entire life died. They told me, i acted like i was fine, i went to my room, put on jacket and tucked my arms inside, went into a corner i could just barely fit in, and cried for at least an hour. every time she is mentioned i’m holding back tears

You know what the funniest part is? I used to listen to this on repeat as a kid and never thought I would make it to 16. I had to spend my 16's birthday in the psych ward on suicide watch, but I made it in the end.

I’m sure nobody listens to this anymore like that and nobody would even see this comment but I have been so ready to give up lately just want to end it all it’s been like this since I was 8 and I’m in my 20s it just feels like nothing is gonna get better the pain is so overwhelming I pray for death because I’m too much of a coward to actually get the job done life is hard and we know that everybody go through things but some people just can’t take it some people can’t be strong this long and honestly I’m done being strong thank you to the person who made this song it helped for years since middle school actually I just can’t find my way in this world
